Cypress acquires CPI

The Cypress Group, a private New-York-based equity firm, has completed the acquisition of Communications and Power Industries (CPI) in a transaction valued at $300 million. CPI is a provider of medical, communications, and satellite equipment as well as microwave power amplifiers used in EMC testing. The companies expect to work together to grow CPI, building on its design and manufacturing capabilities for vacuum electron devices (VEDs) as well as other specialized microwave and RF equipment. www.cypressgp.com.
