Vee connects to world, .NET
Staff -- Test & Measurement World, 4/1/2004
Version 7.0 of Agilent Vee Pro enhances the graphical programming environment, making it easier for you to use standard communications ports such as LAN and USB. Now, you can use the same programming syntax for USB, LAN, and IEEE 488 instruments, and you can use USB instruments directly, without the need for a hardware IEEE 488-to-USB converter.
Vee 7 also incorporates features of Microsoft's .NET framework. Within Vee Pro 7, you can create and use class libraries written in any .NET-compatible language. Having access to class libraries simplifies programming and provides access to thousands of Windows features. For example, you can easily manipulate files and folders within Vee Pro 7, a task that required advanced programming skill with previous versions.
Vee 7 also improves the package's usability. It now mimics Visual Basic with property sheets for its GUI objects, letting you set colors, fonts, and other properties in a familiar way. Experienced programmers will appreciate the undo feature, activated with Ctrl-Z as in other Windows programs.
