Laser tracker

Staff -- Test & Measurement World, 9/1/2004

A new version of the Laser Tracker from FARO Technologies offers improved absolute distance measurement (ADM) accuracy by automatically adapting to conditions that affect measurement drift. A Fast Laser Lock feature relocks the laser in less than 1 min, and an Advanced Target Search routine can handle multiple target types of varying intensity.

The unit offers a 230-ft range and a 0.001-in. accuracy. The new version includes the SuperADM feature of the previous version, which lets users easily reacquire the laser beam "on the fly" when the line of sight is interrupted during measurements. With the SelfComp feature, users can press one button and be assured of the highest possible accuracy within 5 min. Faro Technologies, Lake Mary, FL. www.faro.com.
