Handheld spectrum analyzer covers 7 GHz
Staff -- Test & Measurement World, 9/1/2004
The Model MS2721A handheld spectrum analyzer is designed to measure wireless signals such as those generated by 802.11a, 3G, ultra-wideband, and WiMAX products. A new member of Anritsu's Spectrum Master family, the 12x8x3-in. instrument weighs 6.4 lbs and can serve on the engineering bench or in the field.
The MS2721A, which covers 100 kHz to 7.1 GHz, can make a number of measurements with a single button, including field strength, channel power, occupied bandwidth, adjacent channel power ratio (ACPR), and carrier to interference ratio (C/I). The spectrum analyzer limits phase noise to –100 dBc/Hz at 10-kHz offsets, offers dynamic amplitude noise level (DANL) of –153 dBm, and features a resolution-bandwidth (RBW) range of 10 Hz to 3 MHz. It has a daylight-viewable 8.4-in. TFT color display and includes a multiple-language customizable user interface.
The analyzer can store up to 2000 measurement test setups and save up to 2000 measurement traces; it comes with external and internal compact flash slots, Ethernet 10/100 and USB 2.0 ports, and a lithium-ion battery. It operates from –10° to +55°C.
