Video signal extenders

Staff -- Test & Measurement World, 10/1/2004

Using matched converters to switch between electronic and optical signals, CyberResearch's DVE 1000 video extender and CLE 500 camera extender break the 500-ft limit imposed by older technology for transmitting PC video signals. The DVE 1000 allows monitors or projectors to be placed up to 3300 ft away from the host computer, while the CLE 500 permits 1640 ft between camera and computer. Transmitters and receivers communicate over CFSM simplex fiber-optic cable. Monitors and computers connect through VESA DVI-D cables. CyberResearch, Branford, CT. www.cyberresearch.com.
