NI debuts vision board for PCI Express
Staff -- Test & Measurement World, 11/1/2004
National Instruments choose the Vision 2004 trade fair (October 19–21, Stuttgart, Germany) to introduce its first PCI Express product: the NI PCIe-1429 image-acquisition board. The $2500 board includes two Camera Link connectors and supports base-, medium-, and full-configuration Camera Link cameras, including Redlake's (www.redlake.com) MegaPlus II models. The NI PCIe-1429 includes a four-lane PCI Express interface, enabling it to handle the 680-Mbyte/s maximum Camera Link rate.
The board also includes a trigger line. Users can add NI's IMAC 1000 expansion board to obtain additional interface channels, including isolated digital I/O lines as well as ones that support pulse-train outputs and advanced triggering. With the expanded I/O capability, users can synchronize image data with other acquired measurement data. www.ni.com.
