DVT offers free OPC server software

DVT took time during its 8th Annual Global Business Conference (September 13–16, Summerlin, NV) to describe several of its latest developments. Among the highlighted offerings was the company's PC-based OPC server, designed to work with DVT's Legend series of smart camera-based machine-vision systems.
OPC technology promotes interoperability and can eliminate expensive custom interfaces and drivers normally required for interconnecting equipment and moving data throughout an organization. Iconics, a Microsoft certified partner that develops OPC-based,Web-enabled visualization software for manufacturing applications, developed the OPC server for DVT.
The OPC server is available for free download, as is all of DVT's software. The company's philosophy, said chairman and CEO Bob Steinke, is to make money selling cameras, not software. www.dvtsensors.com.
