Fast ID readers

-- Test & Measurement World, 11/1/2004

Three ID readers from Cognex address the need for parts tracking. The DataMan 6400 and DataMan 6500 handheld readers and the In-Sight 5110 fixed-mount reader combine high-speed processing with lighting, optics, and software for decoding 1-D and 2-D codes. All three units run IDMax software for reading Data Matrix code. The In-Sight 5110, suited for automated production lines requiring high-speed acquisition and processing, meets IEC specifications for shock and vibration. It also achieves an IP67 (NEMA 6) rating for dust and wash-down protection without a separate enclosure. Cognex, Natick, MA; www.cognex.com.
