DSO bandwidth jumps again

Staff -- Test & Measurement World, 11/1/2004

Agilent Technologies has leapfrogged competitor Tektronix to lake the bandwidth lead for real-time digital scopes. With the DSO80000 series, Agilent's high-end scopes now have bandwidths to 13 GHz, a 5-GHz improvement over other scopes. The line consists of 10-GHz, 12-GHz, and 13-GHz models. The bandwidth improvement from 12 GHz to 13 GHz comes through software, which trades noise for bandwidth. A set of Infiniimax probes, with bandwidths of 10 GHz and 12 GHz, accompany the scopes. All scopes have four channels, but to achieve full bandwidth, only two channels are available.

Price: $94,000 to $122,500. Agilent Technologies, Palo Alto, CA; www.agilent.com/find/infiniimax2 .
