Economical power supplies

Staff -- Test & Measurement World, 11/1/2004

Extending Lambda's SWS family of power supplies are 300-W and 600-W models that bring reliable performance to cost-sensitive applications. Each series accommodates a wide range of input voltages, from 85 VAC to 265 VAC, and provides active power factor correction to meet EN61000-3-2 standards. Units produce output voltages of 5 V, 24 V, and 48 V and currents up to 120 A. SWS supplies are cooled by an internal fan and deliver full power at 50C without derating and up to 65C with derating. Other features include over-temperature, over-current, and over-voltage protection; adjustable output; and an integral power-good LED indicator. The 600-W models also provide remote on/off, AC fail signal, and current-sharing capabilities. Base price: $125. Lambda, San Diego, CA; www.lambdapower.com.
