Ethernet analog-output modules

Staff -- Test & Measurement World, 11/1/2004

Two analog-output modules, the BusWorks 972EN and 973EN, convert Ethernet Modbus/TCP instructions from network controllers to DC voltage or current outputs for driving as many as six measurement or control devices. These inch-wide modules, which operate from standard 15-VDC to 36-VDC supplies, contain a 12-bit DAC and an isolated Modbus/TCP 10BaseT/100BaseTX interface with auto-negotiation. The 972EN provides user-selectable DC current output ranges of 0 to 1 mA, 0 to 20 mA, and 4 to 20 mA; the 973EN provides user-selectable DC voltage output ranges of 0 to 1 V, 0 to 5 V, and 0 to 10 V. Built-in watchdog timers and self-diagnostic capabilities simplify maintenance and troubleshooting. Acromag, Wixom, MI; www.acromag.com.
