Simulation tools grow
Staff -- Test & Measurement World, 11/1/2004
The MathWorks has introduced two products and upgraded three others that enhance the way you can develop control systems. The new Simulink Control Design works with the company's Simulink platform to let you perform linear analysis on models of nonlinear systems. You can determine the steady-state operating points of a system or extract a system's operating points at any moment in time.
Simulink Parameter Estimation lets you tune models based on measured results, eliminating trial-and-error system tuning. The measured results can come from several file types including Matlab and Excel. Once you import measured data, you can use the tool's graphical interface to refine your system model and plot the model's response.
Upgraded products include the Control System Toolbox, the System Identification Toolbox, and Simulink Response Optimization.
Pricing starts at $1000, except for the System Simulation Toolbox, which starts at $900. The MathWorks, Natick, MA; www.mathworks.com.
