Software models drivetrains

-- Test & Measurement World, 12/1/2004

The MathWorks has released a software program that models and simulates the mechanics of automotive and aerospace driveline and drivetrain systems. Extending the capabilities of the company's Simulink software, SimDriveline includes tools for modeling transmissions, gears, clutches, and rotating shafts. The software assists in the design of controllers and the testing of them in real time, reducing a manufacturer's need to rely on costly prototypes. The MathWorks, Natick, MA; www.mathworks.com.
