Handheld scope includes DMM
Staff -- Test & Measurement World, 2/1/2005
The Model S2405 from Protek combines a 5-MHz, two-channel digital scope with a DMM. The scope samples at rates up to 50 Msamples/s (single channel) or 25 Msamples/s (two channels) and stores 256 samples of waveform data. In single-shot or glitch-capture mode, the scope can store up to 512 samples. Its vertical sensitivity ranges from 50 mV/div to 500 V/div in 1-2-5 sequences. You can trigger the scope on either channel or from an external trigger signal with AC or DC coupling.
The S4205's DMM can measure AC and DC volts, ohms, continuity, frequency, RPM, pulse width, and duty cycle. DC voltage ranges are 5 V, 50 V, 500 V, and 1000 V. The unit meets UL 3111 and CSA C22.2 safety standards.
A 4.8-V NiMh battery pack powers the unit for up to 4 hrs without backlight or 3 hrs with backlight turned on. It also has an RS-232 port and PC software for displaying and downloading data.
