USB digital I/O module pumps the current
Staff -- Test & Measurement World, 2/1/2005
The Measurement Advantage USB-1096HFS turns your PC into a 96-channel digital I/O controller capable of driving devices such as solenoids and small alarms. Capable of sinking 64 mA and sourcing 24 mA of current, the USB-1096HFS eliminates the need for external drivers or transistors when controlling small devices.
The module's 96 channels are grouped into three 24-channel ports. The three ports are divided into two 16-channel ports and two four-channel ports. You can configure each port's channels as inputs or outputs. In addition, the module includes a built-in four-port USB hub so you can add other USB devices to your system.
For software support, the USB-1096HFS comes with a copy of SoftWire, the company's graphical programming extension to Microsoft Visual Studio. You can also use the company's universal programming library for command-line control or you can use the included LabView VIs.
