GM chooses LMS for noise testing

Staff -- Test & Measurement World, 3/1/2005

LMS International reports that General Motors has selected LMS to provide an integrated testing and analysis system to perform pass-by noise certification of vehicles at the GM Proving Grounds in Mesa, AZ, and Milford, MI. The LMS system supports an upcoming revision of the ISO 362 standard, which covers the measurement of noise emitted by accelerating road vehicles.LMS will integrate the system with other equipment it has already installed at the GM facilities, which will allow GM engineers to reuse test data throughout vehicle development. The system also provides test technicians with real-time information regarding weather conditions, engine speed, vehicle speed, and vehicle position on the test track. www.lms.be.
