Intertek ETL Entela has expanded its Detroit testing center capability by adding airbag deployment test equipment. The new equipment provides testing capability to cover static deployments, out-of-position deployments, in-chamber deployments, fixturing, and full-scale sled and safety testing. Customers receive a CD with a time-stamped file recording first tear, first movement, squib resistance, current, and voltage.
The company has also announced plans for a new automotive component and systems test lab in Shangai, China. The lab will initially focus on automotive performance tests, including vibration tests, thermal aging, thermal cycling, and buzz, squeak, and rattle tests. In the future, the company hopes to add EMC tests, multiaxis vibration tests, and accelerated stress tests. www.entela.com.
