RF shield

Staff -- Test & Measurement World, 4/1/2005

Willtek has created the 4291 shielded enclosure for testing CDMA phones that provides at least 80 dB of shielding. The shielding is needed for isolation in test cases where one mobile unit is transmitting at max power (33 dBm) and another is operating at minimum power (-50 dBm). In addition, shielding is required when testing the receiver via its antenna. Without shielding the unit under test would attempt to lock onto a local base station rather than trying to detect the test signal at -104 dBm. The unit is designed to contain the phone under test and offers a removable rear plate for holding customer-specific connectors. A rocker arm lever and gas spring system provide easy opening, making the unit suitable for high-volume testing. Willtek, Communication. www.willtek.com.
