Digital light source

Staff -- Test & Measurement World, 4/1/2005

Spectrally tunable, programmable, and self-calibrating, the RS-5B digital light source system is useful for photometric and radiometric calibrations. It can also be used as a standard for verifying the performance of solid-state light sources, photodiodes, imaging systems, and CCD/CMOS sensors and cameras. The system's 16-bit color-tunable output can be set to cover all or any portion of the UV/visible/near-IR region. Its linearity and uniformity are less than 0.1% RMS over the 0 to 65,535 intensity range. Light-illuminance settling time is less than 0.1 s. The manufacturer says the system, which includes ambient light correction, outlasts tungsten light sources by more than 100 times. Gamma Scientific, www.gamma-sci.com.
