Agilent Technologies' (www.agilent.com) Medalist i5000 in-circuit test (ICT) system employs new software and a new non-multiplexed tester-per-pin architecture and accelerates test and fixture development while simplifying the engineering-change-order process. The new system maintains the Asset Intertech (www.asset-intertech.com) Scanworks boundary-scan support of the Agilent 3070 Series. Goepel electronic (www.goepel.com) demonstrated its next-generation Scanflex boundary-scan platform—a modular system consisting of Scanflex modular controllers with external Scanflex TAP transceivers (SFX-Transceivers) and parallel Scanflex I/O modules (SFX-Modules). Scanflex supports eight parallel independent TAPs as well as 32 analog and digital I/O lines. A PCI-based controller will be available in the second quarter.
DiagnoSYS (www.diagnosys.com) introduced the S790 Series2 multi-strategy functional, in-circuit, boundary-scan, and mixed-signal board test system. This system is a new version of the S790 from Schlumberger, which exited the business. The Series2 system employs its vendor's Computer Aided Test Engineering (CATE) software for test-program development. Seica's (www.seica.com) VIVA Integrated Platform combines hardware and software to implement the multiple test strategies that address electronics testing from new-product introduction through field test and repair. Digitaltest (www.digitaltest.net) celebrated its 25th anniversary by exhibiting its current lineup of test products, including its MTS 30 test system with support for National Instruments' (www.ni.com) LabView and TestStand software.
Phoenix|x-ray Systems + Services (www.phoenix-xray.com) presented its quality|assurance 2005 software package, which cuts the time needed to develop inspection programs for area-array packages. X-Tek (www.xtekxray.com) announced that its Revolution system offers viewing angles to 75° and allows up to 6000X magnification over a 16x16-in. area. Viscom (www.viscomusa.com) demonstrated its X8051 MXI/AXI system, which combines x-ray technology with optical sensors. It also debuted its 1-, 2-, and 4-Mpixel 4M-HR camera modules and announced that its AOI systems now offer color capability. ViTechnology (www.vitechnology.com) demonstrated its modular, upgradeable Vi-3K series of AOI systems, and it highlighted an upgrade to its Vi-5000 and Vi-3K platforms that will support high-speed 100% 3-D solder-paste inspection based on triangulation technology. Machine Vision Products (www.machinevisionproducts.com) debuted its 3-D AutoInspector 1820 Series, which integrates high-speed smart cameras into the existing 1820 Series design. The company also announced its Supra M automated optical inspection system, which is modeled after the 1820 but fits in a smaller 960x965-mm footprint. Vision Engineering (www.visionengineering.com) demonstrated its Lynx-ESD stereo eyepieceless microscope, which offers ESD protection for static-sensitive components. Landrex (www.landrex-us.com) was on hand to demonstrate its Optima AOI line, which it acquired from Teradyne in February 2004.
Elektrobit (www.elektrobit.com) launched a cell-phone production-test system, which employs NI's TestStand to support application creation. W.L. Gore (www.gore.com) demonstrated its Phaseflex 110-GHz assemblies and highlighted the company's hybrid strip-line printed-circuit-board material, which combines FR4 material for noncritical signal layers and the company's Speedboard C Prepeg (a low-dielectric-constant, low-loss material) for critical layers. Data I/O (www.dataio.com) demonstrated its ImageWriter high-speed in-circuit programming engine based on an Atmel (www.atmel.com) processor. ImageWriter can write to Atmel ATmega and ATtiny flash microcontrollers mounted on a PCB.
CheckSum (www.checksum.com) demonstrated its MultiWriter ISP in-system programming capability for its Analyst in-circuit-test system; the MultiWriter ISP uses patent-pending technology to simultaneously program up to 24 serial ISP devices per board. Tecnomatix Technologies (www.tecnomatix.com) offered demonstrations of its production management and electronics NPI (new-product introduction) offerings, including its eMPower Assembly & Test product. The company also announced support for Seica testers within the Tecnomatix eM-Test Expert application, part of the eMPower PCB Assembly and Test software.
