10G optical receiver modules

Staff -- Test & Measurement World, 5/1/2005

Two 10G receiver optical subassemblies (ROSAs) from NEC improve heat tolerance and system sensitivity in XENPAK, XPAK, X2, and XFP optical transceiver modules for MANs and LANs. The NR3312 series of PIN-type ROSAs operates to 100degreesC with an applied voltage of +3.3V, enabling the module to be used with a single-source power supply. Optimized for high-speed performance, the NR4210 series of APD-type ROSAs delivers a best-in-class sensitivity of -28 dBm, which represents a 3-dBm improvement over earlier NR4720 series devices. Both the PIN and APD modules offer SC and LC sleeves. California Eastern Laboratories, www.cel.com.
