Wireless device servers

Staff -- Test & Measurement World, 6/1/2005

Each equipped with an embedded wireless radio from DPAC Technologies, these device servers allow a broad range of serial devices to communicate over an IEEE 802.11b wireless Ethernet network without modifying host software designed to use COM ports. The six-member family comprises single-port models (SSEW) and dual-port models (DSEW) to network-enable RS-232, RS-422, and RS-485 serial devices for wireless access and control. Two models provide +5-VDC power out on the industry-standard DB-9 serial connector. Price: $375 to $475. Quatech, www.quatech.com.
