PC instrument systems

Staff -- Test & Measurement World, 8/1/2005

Powered by internal hot-swappable batteries, PC instruments in the SideHAND series can run indefinitely without external power. SideHAND's power control system also manages automated battery-level checking and recharging when the system is connected to external AC or DC power. Combined with two or three lightweight, high-yield lithium-ion batteries, this power subsystem allows a high-power computer and peripherals to be operated from two to four hours, depending on the workload. SideHAND instruments employ a high-brightness 15-in. touch-screen TFT LCD with a resolution of 1024x768 pixels, along with a 2.8-GHz Pentium 4 processor and up to 2 Gbytes of RAM. Input options include analog, video, GPS, and CANbus. Base price: $7250. Dewetron, www.dewamerica.com.
