Streaming data recorders
Staff -- Test & Measurement World, 8/1/2006
A new family of single-, dual-, and quad-channel serial data recorders from Curtiss-Wright Embedded Computing support data streams at rates up to 245 Mbytes/s/channel. Consisting of a 3U rack-mounted controller and a 2U rack-mounted storage unit, the SDRxL family of recorders delivers mass storage for archival of critical data. In addition, the RapidReplay operator control suite provides an application program interface (API) for embedded control.
The SDRxL systems come standard with twelve 146-Gbyte hard drives for 1.752 Tbytes of disk storage. Recording time is approximately 1 hr/channel. The system can optionally be configured with smaller (73-Gbyte) or larger (300-Gbyte) drives.
Archived data can be retrieved via the Gigabit Ethernet port at rates up to 1.25 Gbps. An optional high-speed 2-Gbps Fibre Channel Data Retrieval kit permits retrieval speeds of up to 200 Mbytes/s. Curtiss-Wright Embedded Computing, www.cwcembedded.com.
