Agilent Technologies has announced what it calls the first complete and commercially available Pennsylvania State University-Philips (PSP) model parameter extraction package for advanced CMOS device models. The new package, for use with Agilent’s Integrated Circuit Characterization and Analysis Program (IC-CAP) software platform, provides more accurate and efficient modeling than was possible with previously available solutions, according to the company.
Semiconductor foundries use IC-CAP software to characterize foundry processes. With Agilent’s PSP Model Extraction Package and IC-CAP, software designers can generate complete models based on the most recent version of the Compact Modeling Council’s standardized PSP model. The package includes an easy-to-use interface for measurement collection, recommended extraction flows, and model implementation. Agilent’s PSP Model Extraction Package has been verified with foundry data from several large CMOS foundries.
