-- Test & Measurement World, 3/5/2007 8:45:00 AM

Wi-Fi test equipment manufacturer Azimuth Systems is now an associate member of the Fixed-Mobile Convergence Alliance (FMCA), a global alliance of telecom operators whose objective is to accelerate the development of convergence products and services. Participation in the FMCA is an indication of Azimuth’s commitment to the fixed-mobile convergence market, where the company’s products aim to streamline the testing of voice over Wi-Fi phones, converged wireless devices, and networks.

“The fixed-mobile convergence market is a significant opportunity for Azimuth because of our unique ability to test to the stringent product quality demands of voice over Wi-Fi services,” said Jeff Abramowitz, VP of Marketing at Azimuth Systems. “We are excited to work with the FMCA to help accelerate the development of convergence products.”

Azimuth’s voice testing product offerings include the VoWi-Fi Handset Test Suite, which enables the verification of voice quality, roaming performance, and power consumption of voice over Wi-Fi and converged cellular/Wi-Fi handsets. The software runs on Azimuth’s W-Series test platform and is currently used by more than 40 leading vendors and service providers. Azimuth also offers the Director Test Executive for test and device management and Studio, a database management and report generation program.
