Software performs PPP/MLPPP analysis and emulation

GL Communications offers software applications for analyzing and emulating data transmissions using the point-to-point protocol (PPP) and multi-link point-to-point protocol (MLPPP). The software tools run on GL’s high-density T1/E1 PCI cards, as well as the portable USB-based dual T1/E1 laptop analyzer, to allow testing across LAN and WAN environments.
The MLPPP analyzer provides useful analysis of both PPP and MLPPP, including distribution of protocols, protocol fields, frame lengths, and frame status. It also has the ability to decode PPP and MLPPP packets. You can capture a host of protocols exchanged between two nodes over a T1/E1link and perform a variety of statistics measurements.
Multilink PPP is an extension to PPP that allows splitting, recombining, and sequencing of packets across multiple data links into a single logical pipe or bundle. The MLPPP emulator application offers both MLPPP and PPP simulation modes, supporting fragmentation and reassembly, different fragment sizes, and ACFC and PFC compression and decompression.
Automated testing of HDLC, PPP, and MLPPP is possible using Windows client/server software and appropriate modules. These tools allow you to use script based on GL’s clients or embed it into your test environment.
