Handheld OTDR characterizes multimode and single-mode fiber

Intended for technicians who must transition from copper to fiber testing with little or no training, the easy-to-use AXS-110 All-Fiber from EXFO is a lightweight, handheld ODTR that combines both multimode and single-mode capabilities for enterprise, campus, and access network testing. A FasTrace function enables the capture of OTDR traces with a single touch of a button.
The AXS-110 All-Fiber OTDR characterizes 50-µm and 62.5-µm multimode and single-mode fibers and can test through high-port-count splitters—even 1x32 splitters—for passive optical network testing. It is also useful for certification of premises networks with pass-fail features that comply with industry standards, like TIA 568c and IEEE 802.3ah. The instrument accommodates 850-nm, 1300-nm, 1310-nm, and 1550-nm wavelengths with respective dynamic ranges of 24 dB, 25 dB, 32 dB, and 30 dB, while its 0.8-m event dead zone enables you to easily locate and characterize all events.
Value-added options include a power meter, visual fault locator, fiber inspection probe, and IP tester and printer.
Also available are the AXS-110 SM single-mode OTDR and AXS-110 MM multimode OTDR, which are optimized for access and enterprise network testing, respectively.
