Prosilica adds a mid-range model to its GC-Series of Gigabit Ethernet digital machine-vision cameras. The economical GC750 connects directly to the Gigabit Ethernet port of a host computer and does not require a frame grabber.
Built with a progressive-scan CMOS sensor and global electronic shutter for capturing high-speed motion events, the GC750 runs at 60 fps with a resolution of 752x480 pixels. According to the manufacturer, the GC750’s CMOS sensor has near-IR sensitivity that exceeds that of most CCD sensors. The camera comes in monochrome and color versions supporting both 8-bit and 10-bit formats. The color version produces outputs that fully interpolated RGB, as well as Bayer 8, Bayer 16, YUV411, YUV422, and YUV444 image data. Other features of this rugged little camera include external trigger and sync I/O, an RS-232 port for controlling peripheral devices, and an auto-iris control output for video-type auto-iris lenses. A software development kit comes free of charge with the VC750 to facilitate integration of the camera into vision applications. The software supports 32-bit and 64-bit versions of Windows Vista, Windows XP, Windows 2000, Linux, and QNX operating systems.Prosilica, www.prosilica.com.
