Knowlent previews analog Test Bench Builder

Report from the 2007 Design Automation Conference, June 4-8, San Diego, CA.

-- Test & Measurement World, 6/6/2007 8:44:00 AM

Analog test has traditionally been developed alongside the design effort, resulting in complex and incomplete test designs that are inseparable from the design itself. Knowlent intends to alter this model by providing tools allowing designers to define test procedures first, then adapt them to design specifics in a way that allows reuse of the procedures.

Knowlent's Test Bench Builder product, currently in beta test, leverages the company's Viper test language to capture design specifics and generate simulator-specific test code. Test engineers can either draw from a library or create custom templates that describe the test requirements of a functional block, then combine the templates along with design details to create the test bench. The Opal Test Bench Builder is anticipated to be available in Q3 2007.
