Basler releases pylon 1.0 driver package

-- Test & Measurement World, 6/26/2007 7:46:00 AM

Basler has released version 1.0 of its pylon driver package, which the company touts as the first "official" version. Because versioin 1.0 integrates both a GigE Vision and an IEEE 1394 interface, the pylon driver package supports all models of Basler’s scout and pioneer cameras as well as older camera families, such as the A100, A300, and A600.

All cameras can be controlled with a single set of commands via pylon’s unified C++ camera API. The use of GenICam technology (www.GenICam.org) for both GigE Vision and IEEE 1394 cameras provides the basis for this single set of commands. The pylon package offers a DMA function as well as an intuitive viewer, a Microsoft DirectX interface, and a list of sample programs.
