Web directory connects test engineers to labs

-- Test & Measurement World, 7/9/2007 9:11:00 AM

A handy resource from the Equipment Reliability Institute (ERI) in Santa Barbara, CA, helps automotive and aerospace engineers quickly locate labs that perform environmental testing.

The Web site, www.findalab.net, helps users find labs either by location (up to 250 miles from a given address) or by test capabilities, such as acceleration; altitude; ballistic shock; crash testing; humidity; noise, vibration, and harshness (NVH); salt fog; temperature shock; and vibration. Search results include lab names, Web sites, and a list of each lab's capabilities.

The service is free to users, and vendors may add their lab and its capabilities at no charge until November 1. (After that date, a listing fee will be charged.)
