Semicon West: LXI gains Measure Foundry support

-- Test & Measurement World, 7/17/2007 10:04:00 PM

Data Translation at Semicon West demonstrated a new release of Measure Foundry with the new Instrument Pack for Measure Foundry option, a graphical software package that provides drag-and-drop support for LXI test-and-measurement applications.

The software allows users to configure LXI and other instruments using IVI-COM drivers; the new software also works with existing VISA- and SCPI-based programs. Measure Foundry supports function generators, oscilloscopes, digital multimeters, and programmable power supplies.

"The Instrument Pack for Measure Foundry offers the ability to make structures process sequences using various instruments,” said Fred Molinari, president, founder, and CEO of Data Translation. “For example, the process component allows the sequencing of one instrument to another with conditional results and time frames. Combining existing SCPI support with newer LXI instruments offers unprecedented power for creating test and measurement applications. Process sequences can now run in perfect synchronized modes."

Measure Foundry Base supports SCPI commands via the VISA transport layer for LXI, GPIB, USB, PCI, PXI, VXI, and RS-232. Measure Foundry Professional adds a built-in installer for royalty-free, one-click distribution of executables. The Instrument Pack for Measure Foundry adds access to IVI-COM drivers. Prices range from $700 to $2595. Evaluation copies are free.
