GL releases enhanced BERT application
By Staff -- Test & Measurement World, 8/1/2007
GL Communications' enhanced bit-error-rate tester (BERT) measures the correctness of data received on T1/E1 lines according to a repetitive fixed or pseudorandom pattern for a given transmission. The application generates and detects framed, unframed, fractional, and subchannel bit-error rate (BER) patterns with a variety of static and pseudorandom data patterns. You can perform BERT testing simultaneously in real time or in off-line mode on multiple cards. Transmit and receive settings can be independently controlled or set as coupled.
The enhanced BERT supports user-defined patterns consisting of up to 32 bits and provides improved error-insertion capability using predefined error-insertion rates (from 10–9 to 10–2) or user-defined error rates.
