Built around a 1000-W, 13-slot VXI mainframe, the EX400 hybrid systems developer's kit from VXI Technology is designed to allow ATE and data-acquisition system architects to quickly integrate VXI-based subsystems within an LXI instrumentation network.
The EX400 provides an open-architecture, VXI-based framework for distributing and synchronizing high-channel–count measurements through the LXI class definition. You can also realize simplified maintenance through an embedded Web interface with built-in interactive control utilities that are accessible anywhere in the world. All eight of the VXI TTL backplane trigger lines are brought to the front panel via LXI-compliant connectors for extending triggering to multiple VXI mainframes, as well as other LXI Class A devices. This enables VXI and LXI devices to be used together in applications that require precision control of module-to-module handshaking. The EX400 also provides cooling and precision oscillator options for the system clock.
The kit includes the 13-slot mainframe (CT-400) and an LXI-VXI Slot 0 interface (EX2500A), which effectively links the VXIbus instruments to an LXI network. The VXIbus interface comes with industry-standard VISA software to ensure that existing application code can be reused with minimal or no modifications.
