-- Test & Measurement World, 2/1/2008

The DT9872 from Data Translation is a PC-based resistance-temperature detector (RTD) thermometer that features a dedicated analog-to-digital converter (ADC) for each channel. The unit’s front panel accepts up to 48 four-wire RTD probes, making it useful for lab and factory applications. The dedicated ADCs let you simultaneously sample all channels at up to 7.5 Hz. You can select from platinum 100 Ω (Pt100), platinum 500 Ω (Pt500), or platinum 1000 Ω (Pt1000) probes. Temperature range is –200°C to 850°C (–328°F to 1562°F).

The instrument connects to a PC through a USB or Ethernet port. PC software lets you capture and plot data without programming, and you can export data to Excel for analysis.

Price: $7995. Data Translation, www.datatranslation.com.
