The ruggedized 8200 rubidium oscillator from Symmetricom is intended for ground tactical, shipboard, and airborne communication applications requiring superior frequency stability under diverse environmental conditions.
Housed in a small, low-profile package that is less than 1.0-in. high, the standard-performance 8200 provides both 10-MHz and 1-pps outputs, along with a 1-pps input for interfacing with a GPS receiver or other primary standard. Optional configurations support additional outputs or custom outputs.
A low-noise version of the oscillator, the 8200LN, also includes 10-MHz and 1-pps outputs, but provides a 30-dB improvement in close-in phase noise over the standard version. When equipped with a low-g-sensitivity crystal, the 8200LN can maintain low phase noise performance over a wide range of vibration profiles.
Hermetic sealing and shock and vibration hardening enable the oscillator to operate over a wide range of environmental conditions with minimal impact on performance.
