JDSU adds 4G/10G Fibre Channel capability to field tester
-- Test & Measurement World, 2/21/2008 7:00:00 AM
JDSU’s T-BERD/MTS-8000 field-scalable optical test platform now combines 4G and 10G Fibre Channel test support with conventional transport test capabilities, such as SONET/SDH, Ethernet, and OTN. The new functionality aids in the installation and troubleshooting of Fibre Channel services in Metro networks.
In addition to the Fibre Channel capability, new features in this release include support for Layer 4 TCP simulation for troubleshooting next-generation Ethernet/IP services, Ethernet client test capability for 11.05-Gbps and 11.1-Gbps OTN networks, and support for the installation and troubleshooting of IPTV networks. The IPTV support allows you to monitor and analyze MPEG-2 streams, access them via Internet Group Multicast Protocol (IGMP), and perform true QoS analysis, including the ability to verify packet loss, packet jitter, media delivery index, distance error and period errors, and program clock reference jitter; perform TR 101 290-based measurements; and analyze programs and their packet IDs per stream.
