With Omega Engineering’s Model WRS232-USB universal wireless RS-232-to-USB transceiver, you can make any RS-232 device wireless. Simply connect the wireless transmitter module to the device’s RS-232 interface and the wireless receiver module to the USB port of a PC. The RS-232 device can now communicate as if it was directly connected to the PC.
A single wireless receiver module can operate with multiple wireless transmitter modules up to 120 m on a clear line-of-sight. The WRS232-USB operates over the 2.4-GHz ISM band and can be used in both portable and fixed-mount industrial applications. A 9-VDC adapter for the wireless transmitter is optional.
The WRS232-USB, including one wireless transmitter module, one wireless receiver module, RS-232 cable with RJ12 to DB9 connector, DB9 male/male connector, USB cable, CD, and instruction manual, costs $159. Wireless transmitters and receivers are also sold separately, priced at $69 and $100, respectively.
