Amherst Systems, publisher of M1 Oscilloscope Tools (M1OT) software, is making version 4 available at no cost if you buy a new (not refurbished) high-end oscilloscope. To get M1OT software version 4 at no cost through the company's Cirrus-2 program, you must purchase an oscilloscope manufactured by Agilent Technologies, LeCroy, or Tektronix. You need to register for the program and show proof of purchase to get the software. See www.m1ot.com/m1-cirrus-program.htm for details.
The paid version of M1OT is at version 5, but version 4 was in December 2007. Version 5 adds the hidden-anomaly location feature. Once you obtain Version 4, you can upgrade to version 5.
M1OT version 4 lets you analyze captured signals for characteristics such as jitter. It also provides compliance test features and debugging features.
To find out which oscolloscopes make you eligible for the Currus-2 program, go to www.m1ot.com/companion-level-selector.htm. Look for models in the Specialist and Expert columns. You can also download an application to the program. Once approved, you can download the M1OT software.
