Useful for a variety of test and measurement, avionics, manufacturing, and military applications, the 6020 AC power source from Associated Power Technologies (APT) is a programmable 2-kVA unit that provides variable output voltage of 0 to 300 V and output frequencies of 45 Hz to 500 Hz. The 6020 accepts an input voltage of 208 V with an input frequency of 47 Hz to 500 Hz.
A graphic LCD on the front panel lets you monitor voltage, frequency, current, peak current, power, and power factor simultaneously. Each parameter can be programmed independently, along with other parameters such as ramping voltage, test time, and high and low limits.
A front-panel rotary knob lets you make instant adjustments of voltage and frequency during testing. You can also control the start/end angle of the waveform and program surge/drop cycles. For burn-in testing, the 6020 offers an auto loop cycle, auto run mode, and selectable test times in seconds, minutes, and hours.
The power source provides 50 programmable memories with 9 steps per memory to quickly store and recall test routines. In addition, a lockout feature disables front-panel operation and protects preprogrammed routines. Standard features include over-current, over-voltage, and over-temperature protection; over-current foldback; in-rush current of four times the current rating for 1 second; and an RS-232 serial interface for computer control. An IEEE 488 interface is optional.
The 6020 programmable AC power source costs $5595. Associated Power Technologies, www.aspowertechnologies.com.
