Two TTL digital I/O modules from Omega Engineering, the 48-bit USB-4751 and the 24-bit USB-4751L, are true plug-and-play data-acquisition devices for USB-based applications. Simply plug the module into an available USB port, and Omega’s Windows-based software does the rest. The software converts your PC into a real-time strip chart recorder. Data can be printed in graphical or tabular format, as well as exported to a text or Excel spreadsheet file.
The USB-4751 and USB-4751L support both wet and dry contacts as inputs. Their 48 and 24 bits are divided into 6 and 3 8-bit I/O ports, respectively. Each port is software-programmable as input or output. Each module also provides one event counter and three 16-bit timers, which can be cascaded to become a 32-bit timer.
Pin assignments on the 50-pin IDC male I/O connectors on the USB-4751 and USB-4751L are compatible with Opto-22 I/O module racks. The portable digital I/O modules, which can also be DIN rail-mounted, consume 5 V at 200 mA typical. Module dimensions are 132x80x32 mm (5.2x3.1x1.3 in.).
