Useful for automotive crash testing, ballistic and missile testing, and industrial motion analysis, the Fastcam SA2 video camera from Photron operates at 1000 fps at full resolution of 2K x 2K pixels. The 12-bit CMOS camera also offers other speeds and resolutions, including 2000 fps at 1080 pixels, 4000 fps at 720 pixels, and up to 10,000 fps at 512x416 pixels.
The Fastcam SA2 with a PL lens mount captures high-speed events for slow-motion replay, making it suitable for a broad range of applications. According to the manufacturer, the high-speed imager is simple to operate and can be easily integrated into existing systems via the user-select button on the camera’s rear panel or through a Gigabit Ethernet interface. For added flexibility, an optional RS-422 remote keypad with a built-in 5-in. color display lets you view slow motion recording and playback without having to connect to a computer.
