Ixia launches end-to-end service verification platform for triple play

Using active customer traffic over the customer’s delivery path to validate service, Ixia’s IxRave remote quality of experience (QoE) and service validation platform measures true end-to-end performance for multiplay services across an entire network.
IxRave enables carriers, service providers, and enterprises to actively isolate faults, verify that end-customers are receiving services and that such services are working according to service level agreements, and then continue to remotely monitor their networks. Its architecture employs a combination of software probes, inexpensive hardware probes, and Ixia test chassis to achieve full network coverage on a carrier-grade scale. Millions of subscribers are efficiently covered without special-purpose hardware at each network node, DSLAM, or customer location.
IxRave is a scalable platform that integrates with carriers’ operation support systems and provides active, rather than passive, service validation. Passive monitoring uses costly probes that only view the aggregate health of certain segments or network elements. IxRave’s inexpensive probes can be deployed along network edges, at customer premises, and at key core points to perform real-time active network validation.
Ixia can provide ROI analysis for carriers and service providers who would like to see how IxRave can help them reduce operational expenses for new IP services through an ROI calculator.
