-- Test & Measurement World, 4/30/2008 12:00:00 PM
With B&K Precision’s AK57X software kit, you can add functional tests for new ICs to the device libraries of the Model 570A analog and Model 575A digital handheld IC testers. The kit comprises CompactLink development software, a USB security dongle, RS-232-to-USB converter, and serial connection cable.
The CompactLink companion software provides library management, test development and debugging, and user library update facilities. It employs a high-level descriptive test programming language optimized for generating both analog and digital IC test programs. Programs are compiled into machine code, making them fast and compact, and can be freely added to the Model 570A and 575A libraries without opening the case. CompactLink also lets you check program execution before adding to the library.
The USB security dongle must be connected to the PC’s USB port in order to operate the software. To help you keep track of the miniature dongle, it comes attached to a pocket knife keychain. CompactLink software runs under Windows XP.
The AK57X software kit costs $625. The Model 570A analog IC tester costs $1399; the Model 575A digital IC tester costs $1099.
