LMS optimizes ground vibration test platform
-- Test & Measurement World, 5/1/2008 3:00:00 PM
Helping aerospace manufacturers achieve shorter test times while increasing test observability and overall quality for ground vibration testing (GVT), LMS offers a platform that combines simulation and physical testing to accelerate and optimize the complete test cycle—from test preparation and modal testing to model analysis, numerical model correlation, and model updating.
The LMS GVT solution is based on the LMS Test. Lab testing and analysis software suite and a series of interconnected LMS SCADAS II data acquisition front ends totaling over 1000 channels. It includes test instrumentation management, a full set of complementary excitation and acquisition techniques, advanced model analysis technology, data management, and reporting tools.
In addition, LMS integrates advanced simulation, providing the opportunity to use finite element (FE) models to guide the test and validate the test result quality. Test results are directly applied to correlate and validate FE models during GVT execution. This allows testing and analysis teams to agree on the acquired data on the spot and confidently proceed to the next phase of the test campaign.
LSM also offers dedicated engineering services for ground vibration testing based on a combination of engineering skills, development experience, and GVT application know-how.
