JDSU's field tester analyzes CWDM wavelengths

Developed for CWDM network installation, maintenance, and surveillance teams, the OCC-55 optical channel checker from JDSU serves as a low-cost alternative to optical spectrum analyzers. The compact OCC-55, part of the SmartClass family of testers, provides an inexpensive means of verifying the presence and the power level of individual CWDM channels.
Operating over a wavelength range of 1260 nm to 1620 nm, the handheld tester analyzes all 18 CWDM wavelengths in terms of the individual power level and then displays the measurement results in either a bar graph or tabular mode. With the free OFS-355 SMART optical reporting software, you can easily download test data from the OCC-55 to a PC via a USB interface to create reports in Excel.
