Data Translation's temperature monitor is Ethernet-ready
-- Test & Measurement World, 5/21/2008 5:00:00 PM
Data Translation now offers an Ethernet/LXI version of its TEMPpoint temperature measurement instrument to allow remote monitoring and control of thermocouples, RTDs, and voltages in the field and on the factory floor. With full Class C compliance and certification to LXI standards, TEMPpoint ensures compatibility with other LXI devices when used in large system configurations.
TEMPpoint offers 48 separate channels with 24-bit resolution, each with its own analog-to-digital converter and cold junction compensation circuit. What’s more, the instrument’s 1000-V channel-to-channel isolation protects signal integrity and rejects common-mode noise.
Units ship with a Web-based application that lets you configure, measure, and control the TEMPpoint DT8871(thermocouple/voltage) and DT8872 (RTD/voltage/resistance) either locally or remotely. Web pages are provided for configuring all aspects of the TEMPpoint instrument, including local area network, input channels to measure, scan parameters, alarm limits, and digital I/O lines.
Prices start at $7495 for the DT8871 and $8495 for the DT8872.
