Power amplifier delivers 40 kV

-- Test & Measurement World, 6/1/2008

In addition to an output range of 0 to ±40 kV DC or peak AC and an output current range of 0 to ±15 mA DC or peak AC, TREK’s Model 40/15 power amplifier provides DC stability, high speed, and precise control of output voltages to meet the needs of a diverse range of industrial and research applications.

The Model 40/15 is configured as noninverting with a fixed gain of 4000 V/V. A potentiometer allows DC offset adjustment over the entire voltage output range. The instrument also features a solid-state design for high-slew-rate, wide-bandwidth, and low-noise operation. The four-quadrant, active output stage sinks or sources current into reactive or resistive loads throughout the output voltage range. DC accuracy is better than 0.1% of full scale; slew rate is greater than 350 V/µs.
