Credit-card-sized cameras in Prosilica’s GB-Series are intended for OEM applications requiring machine-vision cameras in tight spaces. The CCD cameras are available in color and monochrome versions with landscape or portrait orientation and in-line or vertical connection to ease integration. Their GigE Vision-compliant interface allows cable lengths of up to 100 m (300 ft) using standard Cat-5e cabling.
The GB-Series comprises four models delivering resolutions from VGA to 5 Mpixels and full-resolution frame rates to 120 fps. Higher frame rates are possible using the cameras’ region-of-interest readout and/or binning modes. Cameras also offer snapshot/global shuttering; external trigger and sync I/O; auto-iris control; RS-232 peripheral port; exposure, gain, and offset controls; nonvolatile configuration memory; event recording; pretrigger recording; programmable strobe functions; multicasting; configurable IP addresses; auto-exposure; and auto-white balance controls.
A free software development kit supports Windows, Linux, and QNX operating systems on both Intel and PowerPC platforms. In addition, the GB-Series cameras are plug-and-play compatible with imaging libraries and application software from Matrox, National Instruments, Stemmer Imaging, Norpix, and MVTec.
